The Venue

The Cultural and Conference Center of Heraklion is a modern venue in Crete dedicated to performing arts and scientific meetings.

Under construction for many years has finally been inaugurated in 2019 and handed over to the public. Is located close to historical landmarks of the city of Heraklion, such as the remnants of the Venetian walls and the burial site οf the Greek writer and philosopher - one of the greatest of 20th century - and Heraklion native Nikos Kazantzakis.

The conference center is five-building complex housing multiple facilities including:

The Andreas and Maria Kalokairinou Hall, the main auditorium, with highly acoustics and visual capabilities. With capacity of 740 seats, it may host opera and musical theater performances, theater productions, symphonic music concerts, ballet and modern dance, conferences, film screenings. Is named after the Kalokairinou family, distinguished members of Cretan society with great influence in political and cultural life of Crete.

The Concert Hall with capacity of 215 audience seats, designed to host chamber music works, small instrumental and vocal ensembles, seminars, educational programs, screenings and smaller theatrical performances.

The Seminar Room, with capacity of up to 180 seats, is fully equipped to support the organization of conferences, workshops, etc. Stands the ability dividing into two sections of equal capacity creating the ability to host parallel events.

The Small Theater is a hall with capacity of over 100 seats. It has the ability to host conference workshops and seminars, as well as lectures and cinema screenings.

Venue extra spaces include guest rooms, dressing rooms, test rooms, VIP rooms, a restaurant, ATM, shops, car parking spaces, etc.
